Bernardo Boffa-Molinar

Biografia

After studying in Universidade de Coimbra’s FCTUC Computer Science Degree, Bernardo Boffa-Molinar wanted to do more than “serious programming” so he decided to follow his dream of making videogames and came to Lisbon to study in IADE’s Games Development Bachelor. In each semester, he developed a new game with a new group, from a game on astrology to even a Multiplayer Battle Arena.

In his Erasmus semester at Cologne Game Lab, Bernardo led a small team to develop a gamified tool to help doctors and patients dealing with balancing issues from Multiple Sclerosis. It was also here, he worked for Greater Games e.U. in collaboration with Uni Ulm - Ulm Public University, as a Unity Programmer in a serious game named “Uuuugh” developed for teenagers to learn how to detect and prevent manipulation strategies.

After a time an interest in Game Design urged so Bernardo enrolled in IADE’s Game Design Post Graduate course. During his time at IADE as a student, he participated in game jams such as Games for Good and attended DevGAMM and many other industry events in Portugal.
