IADE has been a laboratory of creativity, talent and leadership recognized by the whole society since it was founded in the late 1960s, having made its mark in the creative scene in Portugal throughout these more than 50 years of history.
Recognized internationally, as part of the 50 best design schools in Europe (Domus Ranking), it was a pioneer in the teaching of Design in Portugal, and is currently the leading institution in this area, with an employability rate of around 94%.
IADE has encouraged students to test their own talent and to believe in themselves and in their ability to leave their mark on organisations and on society itself. It is the ideal ecosystem for students to unleash their creativity and create their own future, with constant mentoring by a dedicated team of teachers and collaborators.
Its teaching model “Learning through Creation” has laboratories and spaces where students can bring their own projects to life and also work on challenges with iconic brands, putting into practice what they learn throughout their course.
The technology is part of the institution's DNA with space for new areas related to Soft STEAM, having as its engine the areas of Arts, Design and Creative Technology.
In face-to-face or online format, IADE grants Undergraduate, Masters and PhD degrees, as well as Executive Training programmes, in training areas related to creation: Design, Arts, Communication, Marketing, Advertising, Photography and Technologies.
As a result of our innovative, disruptive and avant-garde spirit, we are pioneers in the launch of Degrees taught entirely in English in creative areas and we have been challenging the Portuguese market by launching programmes that did not exist until now:
